Symptoms and Treatment of Submandibular Gland Disorders

In previous articles we have discussed the submandibular gland disorders. This time we will discuss symptoms and treatment of submandibular gland disorders. A submandibular gland disorder patients will usually show few symptoms that we can directly see. Here are some of the symptoms caused by submandibular gland disorders.


  •  Swelling of Face or Neck
Swelling arising from the blockage of the submandibular gland tract. Blockage occurs due to crystallization  by chemical substances in the gland, these crystals will clog the flow of saliva into the mouth. For more details you can see here.
  •  Pain in the face or mouth
Pain in the face or mouth is the result of the swelling that occurs in the submandibular gland.

  • Dry mouth
Dry mouth is caused by salivary gland channels blocked by the crystals (rock channel)

Care

Once we know that we are suffering from blockage of the salivary glands of the channel, then we should get treatment. The treatment is carried out aiming to eliminate a cap rock channel salivary glands. Health care provider or dentist may be able to push the stone out of the channel. In some cases, the stone may need to cut through the surgery. Treatment is expected to cure the disorder submandibular gland that you get.
